My Sylvanian Families Display by angelberries My Sylvanian Families Display by angelberries
Its finally done! In fact, it took so long, theres a heck of a lot of dusting to do!! Wahhh!!

Anyway, the buildings are as follows - top left, Brambles Department Store, with stackable cottage on top. The pizza shop is located in the bottom of the cottage, along with the gift shop. The Japanese girls live in the top apartment, they make traditional Kimonos for the other Sylvanians. In a classic Japanese way, all three of them are living in that tiny space!!

Bottom left - Kindergarden.

Middle - Willow Hall and extension. The Renard family live there.

right - double mansion. Naturally the Kitsunes (my favourite family!) live there. They also own the department store.

Figures are far too many to mention, but thats only about half of what I own. Can't cram anymore on!! Theres are the Renards, Slydales, Kitsunes, Wildflowers, Sheep, Cottontails, Fisher cats, Whisker cats, rabbits... and loads more!

The base is made from MDF, propped up by two boxes. I used railway 'grass' and chippings to make the scenery, along with a whole bunch of trees, and some mini pots I got from a florists. There are a handful of non Sylvanian Items here, but I'd say a 90% portion is the real deal!

I loved these things when I was younger, but when we renovated the house I lost them. They're cute nonetheless though~

There was a legal battle that made america not permitted to use the name "sylvanian families" after like the mid 80's or so. Japan and UK still call them Sylvanians though.

Phew..... I couldn't actually put a price on that. Families are £12.99, babes £4.99.... the building in the middle was £50, the one in the corner £60 and the nursery £30, plus the loads of extra sets..... I've bought loads secondhand too, but really, this must run into hundreds of pounds, not including what isn't displayed. I've never thought of it like this before!

I don't think many are sold in Australia - ebay is your best bet. In the US, they are sold as Calico Critters.

Yeah they were when I was younger. Because I had quite a few. But then they stopped selling them in toy stores because of so many complaints.
