Custom Plush Fennekin (Fokko-Chan)

This plush is made from faux fur, in red, golden yellow and white. He is handsewn, to my own pattern. His legs are jointed in a traditional Teddy Bear method, with wire armature inside each leg for poseability. Each eye is hand embroidered, and shaded with artist markers. His nose is polymer clay, affixed safely inside.


My idea for this plush was to make a 'real' feeling pokemon - so many plush artists make fantastic minky pokemon plushies, I wanted to try something different and move away from the cartoony feel of minky plushies. I used  faux fur to make it pettable, and weighted him inside. With the jointed and wired legs, I guess this is not quite a plush, but more of an artist doll in a way. Or perhaps a cross between the two? Either way, he is still cuddl-able!

It is *nearly* lifesize. OK, probably a bit smaller than lifesize. She feels rather like having a small dog! I put a collar on her and am seriously thinking of using a dog lead on her when out and about...... no, really. I am mad.
